Snaz Consulting Inc. is an independent educational publisher based in Calgary, Alberta. Credit Decoded is our flagship brand.
We publish guides on U.S. and Canadian consumer credit law. The audience is buyers dealing with collection accounts, defaulted student loans, inaccurate credit reports, and the financial situations that don't come with instructions — people who get stuck because nobody told them what their actual rights are. Every guide is built on the same standard: cite the law, explain the procedure, label every sample letter as a starting point, and never promise an outcome we can't deliver.
The publishing standard
Every legal claim in every guide cites a primary source — Fair Credit Reporting Act sections, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act sections, CFPB consumer guidance, FTC enforcement publications, PIPEDA, and the relevant provincial consumer protection statutes. If a claim cannot be cited to one of those sources, it does not go in the guide.
We use conditional language deliberately. Where outcomes depend on the buyer's circumstances, we say so. Where the law gives a buyer a specific right, we explain how to exercise it. We do not claim the law guarantees results, because the law does not.
What we are not
We are not a credit repair organization as defined under the Credit Repair Organizations Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1679a. We don't file disputes for you, talk to credit bureaus or collectors on your behalf, or provide legal, financial, or tax advice. For legal advice, consult a licensed attorney in your state or province.
Why this brand exists
Most credit-recovery information online falls into two camps that don't serve the people who need it most. Generic advice from finance bloggers without legal grounding. Or marketing material from credit repair companies charging for procedures buyers can complete themselves under federal law. Neither helps the buyer who needs to know what the law actually says and how to apply it.
Our guides exist for that buyer.
